I had a family emergency and I had to go back home to UK, later, I lost my job due to my prolonged leave. I had a personal loan with one of the banks in UAE who started calling me and asking me to settle my outstanding since my end of service benefits were not sufficient to cover the total amount.
I didn’t have the means to do so and I explained that to the bank but I kept on getting collections calls and final notices emails. After a couple of months, I was the target of a collection agency who threatened me with police cases and interpole and they shared the police case number. I didn’t know what to do and what made the situation worse is that I got a good offer from a company in Abu Dhabi, but I couldn’t take due to the filed case. While googling a solution, I came across Upthrust; so, I booked a meeting with these guys. In the meeting they explained everything related to my situation from both legal and financial perspective, they offered an action plan that tackle each possible scenario and the first step was checking my legal status in UAE and whether there is a case against me or not. I went with them, signed the contract and paid the fees, 3 days later they have provided me with an official document stating that there is no cases against me whatsoever. The collections agency was bluffing, and my problem was solved. I came back to UAE and took their help in restructuring my loan, it was a seamless and efficient experience.
I am investor, and I’ve been subject to a fraud case of 3.4 million dirhams. I turned out to lawyers, but their fees were skyrocketing, I couldn’t find any law firm who is willing to take the case for less than 80,000 apart from court fees.One of my friends introduced me to Upthrust, I sat with their legal advisor and explained the case to him.

I went to renew my visa, only to find out that a privet hospital has filed a case against me and my wife claiming 2.1 million dirhams for services given to my father-in-law who passed out in 2016 in the hospital largely due to their incompetence.

The appeal court ruled in our favor and the case was returned to the initial court. We lost in initial and appeal court, but we won in high court and the case is now again in appeal court. I had a mortgage with one of the financial institutions which was acquired later by an Islamic bank. Due to very tough circumstances followed by the covid era, I lost my job and overdue accumulated.
At that point I had already covered the financed amount (the principle) and all what was remaining is pure profit. I approached the bank for cash settlement where I offered 1.5 million against 1.7 outstanding, but the bank refused claiming that the property market value is higher than the outstanding and all my subsequent attempts went in vain. Can this get any better?
